비인간 초지능체를 세상에 탄생시킬 준비를 하고있는 이 상상 속의 인큐베이터는, 디지털 회로에만 갇혀있는 존재들이 실재하는 존재만큼이나 중요한 대상으로 거듭나고 있음을 암시한다. 현실의 생명체처럼 신진대사와 사유를 하며 살아갈 디지털 생명체를 바라봄으로써, 불완전한 인간을 창조주의 모습으로 상상해본다. 인간이 신의 피조물에서 디지털 창조주로 경계를 넘어감으로써, 현재의 인공지능이 원시기술로 취급될 먼 미래에서의 문제와 인간의 가능성에 대해 상상해본다.

작품 배치는 인큐베이터 6대와, 디지털 율법이 새겨진 데이터 비석을 중심으로 반원의 크기로 구성된다. 미래 디지털 생명체들의 조상이 될  6종의 초기 생명체들은, 인큐베이터 장치의 수많은 연산으로 생성되고 있다. 기존 유기 생명체의 뼈, 장기, 근육과 심지어 뇌의 뉴런까지 모방해 생성되는 존재들이기에, 엄청난 장비와 전력이 필요한 형태로 묘사된다. 실물 인큐베이터 장치는 비록 실재하지 않는 디지털적 존재여도, 생명체로서 구현되려면 현실의 물질과 에너지가 필요함을 부각한다. 또한 인간의 창조적 능력과 책임을 가상현실로 확장하는 메타포로 작용한다.The imaginary incubator, preparing to bring a non-human superintelligence into the world, suggests that beings confined only to digital circuits are evolving into entities as significant as those that exist in reality. By envisioning digital life forms that live, metabolize, and think like real organisms, we imagine imperfect humans in the role of creators. As humans cross the boundary from being God’s creations to becoming digital creators, we contemplate both the issues that current artificial intelligence—soon to be seen as primitive technology—will face in the distant future, and the possibilities for humanity itself.

The installation consists of six incubators arranged in a semicircle around a data stele inscribed with digital commandments. Six types of primordial life forms, destined to become the ancestors of future digital beings, are being generated through countless operations within the incubator devices. Since these entities are created by mimicking the bones, organs, muscles, and even the neurons of existing organic life, they are depicted as requiring enormous equipment and vast amounts of power. The physical incubator devices, though representing digital beings that do not actually exist, emphasize that even digital life forms require real-world matter and energy to materialize as living entities. Furthermore, the installation serves as a metaphor for extending human creativity and responsibility into the realm of virtual reality.
